Mick Jagger’s Diet: OK

OK – I acknowledge it I am a Rolling Stones fanatic as are quite a few here. We are all alert to his fitness level which he computes regularly. However, what’s his diet like? Obviously not “burger and beer” structured therefore i thought I’d research it.

In the entourage he has both a personal trainer and a nutritionist. His basic diet appears to be predicated on the Keto concepts – low carbs and high proteins (basically a low GI one). This consists of the healthy pasta, rice, potato and loaf of bread options with plenty of fruit and veg, and mainly seafood and chicken making up the main proteins sources (in addition to beans and lentils).

On tour he ups his carb intake with a pasta meal some hours before a performance to slowly release the energy he needs to typically cover 12 kilometers during a two hour performance. Actually on tour it appears to veer from Keto to elite athlete diet. He also takes vitamins and cod liver oil, and the occasional alcoholic drink.

We reside in a stressful world, and the majority of us are stressed about a very important factor or another on a regular basis. The plain thing is, our anatomies weren’t designed to handle continuous stress, and it can have harmful effects on a multitude of functions-including weight gain/loss.

When under stress, the physical body releases cortisol, a steroid hormone that is part of the fight-or-flight response.
