Procrastinating can be fun, sometimes! It may also be a great way to obtain frustration and anxiousness when we keep putting off what we’re able to be doing today. I have the ability to fit unscheduled shopping sprees into my already busy timetable, visit people I havent seen for or give them a ‘quick telephone call awhile.

Sometimes Ill even remove the refrigerator, wardrobe, and any wardrobe or room in the homely house – well they need cleaning and sorting sooner or later! If I had your dog Id take it for an extended walk probably, maybe give it a bath, clip its toenails, place ribbons in its hair – procrastinating can be fun!

The term procrastinates means to defer action, or put off (Ill add dawdle and ‘wish it goes away as well). Whats interesting is the cras (adv) in procrastinator is the Latin word for tomorrow. If you ask me this snippet of information means procrastinators have been with us for an extremely, really, really long time!

Wonder what strategies they applied in the past. When I drag my foot, and keep placing something off, at the back of my brain is a flicker of hope that someone else will step in and do for me personally what Id rather not (like my accounting paperwork!). There are plenty of, multiple reasons someone procrastinates and also varying levels.

What lies beneath could be a fear of failing or concern with success, have no basic idea how to start or finish a project, in circumstances of overwhelm, depression, seems pointless, not motivated, or just maybe laziness maybe. What happens when you know theres something you should be doing rather than cleaning out the refrigerator again really? An assignments due Maybe, bills are overdue, and filing needs to be done urgently because you cant see your desk anymore.

My figure is your disappointment and stressometer begins rising rapidly. Now will be a pretty good time for you to sit down and ask yourself some serious questions like the ones below: 1. How do i organise myself to get things done better? 2. Whats in it for me? What are the professionals and cons of procrastination? 3. Exactly what will I lose easily complete what I need to? Could be stress levels!

4. What will I gain easily complete what I have to? This may be in the form of free time, peacefulness; banish forever what you have to complete. Maybe your gain shall be a special purchase – much like showing yourself with a reward! 5. How important is this to me really?

For example how important is paying your electricity bill? If you do not pay your electricity bill your power will be cut off. On the other hand it’s likely you have 3 things that need to be done first as a matter of priority. 6. Is the reason I drag my ft due to a ‘who cares attitude? MAY I delegate this project (theres that glimmer of hope again) to someone else?

7. Do you actually know what you need to do? Seriously, maybe the process is unclear about how to begin or finish whatever it is that should be done. When youve done that, breakdown what must be achieved to the smallest denominator and work your way up from there.

Sometimes we think about Everything that require to be done which overwhelms us. Start really, small and work the right path up by firmly taking baby steps really. Be in today’s moment totally. A life long habit thats ready for change requires dedication, action, as well as effort and time. By initially answering a few simple questions similar to the ones above can help start that ball rolling towards greater clarity in what gets done and what doesnt, and it is this okay.
